What began in 2006 as a single transport company is today a five-company holding: infrastructure, transport, construction chemicals and education.
2006 — Transport services
West Travel LLC, the holding’s first company, was founded — a broad range of vehicle services for the private sector, state delegations, NGOs and tourist groups.
2007 — Bitumen emulsion plant
Acquisition of a Danish bitumen emulsion plant with modern technology, high output and top product quality.
2008 — Growing the transport business
The company renewed its fleet and acquired business-class vehicles.
2010 — Road construction
Increased investment in road building; modern road machinery was purchased.
2013 — Real estate
Investment in real estate: office and commercial premises were acquired, including the head office.
2014 — GCG and Chemicals
GCG LLC was founded with partners — road construction and machinery services. The same year, Chemicals LLC was established — an importer of construction chemistry, today the authorised distributor of Italy’s Iterchimica in Georgia.
2016 — “Become an Olympian”
Under WT Group patronage, the non-profit Union of Olympian Mathematicians of Georgia was created, with the mission of discovering talented students and supporting their growth.
2017 — Asphalt plant and the Batumi project
GCG acquired a German Benninghoven ECO 2000 asphalt plant at the Vaziani production base. The same year, WT Group purchased the former Shahin school-lyceum building in Batumi.
2018 — The first school
The Georgian-American School of Batumi opened — the holding’s first school and its investment in education.
2023 — The second school
The Georgian-American School of Tbilisi (GAST) was founded — the holding’s second educational institution.
