Improving and supporting the country’s education system is a priority for the company, which is why it actively funds a range of educational projects.
“Become an Olympian” — Olympian
Under WT Group patronage, the non-profit Union of Olympian Mathematicians of Georgia was created in 2016. Every year it runs “Become an Olympian”, a free mathematics olympiad for 6th-graders (olympian.ge). The organisation’s mission is to discover talented children and support their development.
Any 6th-grade student from any school can take part. Around 800 students participated in the first year, and the project has grown dynamically since. Union members coach outstanding participants free of charge, preparing them to compete in international olympiads.
NESC Georgia
Since 2014 the holding has been the official sponsor of NESC Georgia, which runs the annual National English Spelling Competition. The idea was developed by Peace Corps volunteer Adam Malinowski.
NESC aims to bring innovative technology and methodology to the English spelling project, making the learning experience accessible, effective and fun for every student and teacher.
